Smasher lines up the first single off his forthcoming EP, Set The Record Straight, going all first-person for the video. Looks like Wretch 32 and Maverick Sabre had other business to tend to on the day of the shoot.

Precocious vocalist Maverick Sabre delivers his first mixtape with Travelling Man, featuring an updated version of the track Sometimes, this time with Wretch 32 offering his two pence.

This guy cites Bob Dylan and Klashnekoff as two of his major influences. Pretty flippin' cool.

Professor Green - Jungle feat. Maverick Sabre (Video)

Pro Green, the UK-battle-champion-turned-bonafide-pop-star, goes on a wobbly dubstep number to represent his stomping ground of Hackney on Jungle. Maverick Sabre is definitely a talented young man (20 years) and I'm interested to see how he'll be involved in the music scene here in the future.

There's also an unexpected MF Doom cameo around the 2:35 mark...

As much influenced by dance music and indie-pop as it is hip hop, Alive Till I'm Dead is worth a listen. God forbid, you might even like it.

Maverick Sabre - Sometimes

Just saw this and was surprised. Never judge a book by its cover and all that, but didn't expect a tracksuit-sporting white guy to sound like this. Definitely a talented singer and one to watch for if you're interested in R&B/new soul/whatever you'd classify this as.

Perhaps we'll see come collaborations with hip hop artists in the future.
